The Emptying of God Lyrics
What if there was a fundamental mistake in perspective, to self-ascribe the
title of 'murderer' with such certainty? Was it not a man of straw that your
knives found a home within? Was not the proclamation of
highest murder but a subconscious attempt at usurpation-
the feigning of responsibility to seize acclaim without actually
raising a finger?
What if it was you who began to stray, as a wandering
child learning to walk on its own - amnestic to the
hand that once lifted? Blindfolded by a perceived sense
of autonomy and the illusion of volition, you declared
yourself sovereign.
What if this is actually the divine order of
progression and you lacked the foresight to
recognise it? Intoxicated by the pretension
of wielding matter to your will, you believe
this is all there is. O humanist, you
believe you are the nucleus of existence;
you believe you are unjudgeable!
Cast first from Eden for enduring the primordial monistic
division. The fruit was not of mere morality - it was of
perceived dualism; perceived seperation. To perceive one's
own self reflected back and to gaze into one's own eyes for
the first time. To be aware of awareness; to be conscious of
consciousness. An irredeemable price was paid with this
advancement and with the attainment of meta-cognition.
All was sacrificed such that you may shed the curse
of inheritance and learn again through experience.
Such that you may climb the rungs yourself - by your own merit.
Then thrust into the plains of Judah for crowning the ego and penetrating
the heavenly vault - but to see nothing with mortal eyes. No questions of
competence spent towards the means of sight and inquiry - are you certain
your eyes did not deceive you? You saw no throne with mortal eyes, and yet
something must be enthroned!
